Referring to Announcement of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) No. Peng-00295/BEI.POP/11-2022 dated 24 November 2022, PT Selamat Sempurna Tbk (SMSM) became one of the stock member in ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI (ESGQKEHATI) Index for period December 2022 - May 2023.
Short brief about ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI Index
On December 20, 2021, IDX issued the ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI (ESGQKEHATI) Index, which is an index that measures the stock price performance of 45 stocks that consider the quality of financial and ESG aspects with relatively large market capitalization and high liquidity.
ESGQKEHATI Index is a jointly developed index with the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI Foundation). This index was established to complement the SRI-KEHATI Index, which was previously launched in 2009 and has become the ESG investment reference at the Indonesian capital market.
The ESGQKEHATI Index calculation method uses the Capped Free-Float Adjusted Market Capitalization Weighted Average. This index uses the free float market capitalization as the weight by imposing a capping on a stock in the highest index of 15% at the time of evaluation. IDX sets the base date for the ESGQKEHATI Index on June 1, 2016 with a base value of 100.
IDX will conduct 2 types of periodic evaluations of the ESGQKEHATI Index, which are Major Evaluations which include evaluations of constituents and readjustments to the weight of stocks in the index. Next is the Minor Evaluation which only includes a readjustment of the weight of stocks in the index. Major Evaluation of the ESGQKEHATI Index will be conducted at the end of May and November, which will be effective every first Exchange Day in June and December. Minor evaluations for the index are carried out at the end of February and August, which will then be effective every first Exchange Day in March and September.
